The Scootboot TheraRide is the most innovative hoof boot on the planet. By combining therapeutic support with the rideability of our Scootboot Classic, your horse can enjoy additional support, even after they’ve healed. With its recessed sole, customised pads can be interchanged depending on your horse's specific needs.

Why Choose the Scootboot TheraRide?

  • Dual Purpose Design: TheraRide is the only therapeutic boot suitable for both therapy and riding, supporting hoses through transitioning, recovery and activity.
  • Shock Absorption: Features a specially designed honeycomb TPU pad that absorbs concussion.
  • Rehabilitation: provides relief from hoof pathologies such as navicular, pedal osteitis, ringbone, sidebone and thin/bruised soles.

Each TheraRide boot comes with bulb straps and mud straps attached. These provide a high level of adjustability.

The Accessory Bag contains multiple spare parts, and a full list is below. These include additional sizes of mud straps and bulb strap extenders to lift the bulb strap higher on the bulbs to accommodate high heels.

The bulb strap gaiters can be used to prevent potential chafing and add extra comfort on long rides.

There are two types of pads included with the TheraRide boots:

  • Therapy Pads (TPU) – This is the yellow honeycomb pad that comes fitted with your boot and is the main pad designed for this product. This pad has a high level of shock absorption and is extremely durable. It can be used for rehabilitation and riding.
  • Standard Pads (EVA) – The standard pad in the accessory bag is designed for comfort and light riding. It is not intended for long-term use or long-distance riding. These pads are not as durable as the therapy pad due to the nature of the material (EVA) and will compress after use, but they should return to their initial size when rested. These can also be used in conjunction with any custom pad.

Total Rehab Helper

My 26 year old retired Chincoteague mare is a founder rehab case. When I got her about 10 months ago, I knew we had a long road ahead of us. I had other Scootboots for her, and while they did help (and we wore them until they were absolutely beyond repair), I was constantly trying to find ways to put a little extra padding in them so she would be more willing to walk around. When Scoot Boot came out with Scootboot TheraRide - I was in. When I got them, I put them on her immediately. Our rehab road is still very long, but she has an easier time walking with the honey comb pad and is starting to get into trouble with her daughter. 🤣

I bought a retired racehorse with neglected sore feet, and the lack of muscle and poor balance that goes with chronic forrtsoreness, 9 months ago as a companion horse. Regular scoot boots instead of shoes improved his comfort immediately while corrective farriery was underway. He wears boots 24/7. It turns out he is good at and enjoys dressage and is now a riding horse.I thought his feet were comfortable but I tried therarides anyway - to discover a fresh improvement in his movement and attitude. Scoots have certainly improved Oscars quality of life.

The minor issue I have with the yellow pads is that they accumulate stones in the holes. I don't think these have caused discomfort but I have to dig them out every couple of days when I check the boots. I have found the mudstrap sleeves very hard to get on so I bought some tubing from the hardware store that is doing the job.
