Getting sized for hoof boots is a simple and easy process, and our team is here to help make sure you get the right size for your horse or mule. It’s an important part of getting the most out of your new Scoot Boots.
And if you get your hooves sized through our free service, you also qualify for free shipping on your first order!
The right time to get the most accurate measurements for sizing is within two weeks after a barefoot trim.
To get an accurate size, you’ll need to take 4 photos for each hoof, including two of the underside with a tape measure.
We recommend getting someone to help with this bit, as you’ll need to hold the tape measure, hoof and camera to get a good picture.
Lift the hoof and hold the camera directly above the base, so it’s not on an angle. Make sure you start the tape measure at the toe and pull it down over the frog.
With the camera in the same position directly over the hoof, lay the tape measure across the widest part of the hoof.
Position the camera directly in front of the hoof at ground level. We need to see an accurate angle of the hoof walls.
Position the camera beside the hoof at ground level. We need to see an accurate angle of the heel bulbs.
To help with getting your photos, you can watch this video of our sizing specialist walking you through each one.
